DEADLINE EXCLUSIVE Berlinale Punk Dramedy ‘Matapanki’ Gets North American Deal For Italy’s Minerva
Altered Innocence has acquired North American rights to Matapanki, the debut feature from Chilean filmmaker Diego “Mapache” Fuentes. The film recently had its European premiere in the Generation 14+ section at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival, where it earned a Special Mention from the international jury.
The deal was negotiated between Frank Jaffe from Altered Innocence and Monica Ciarli from Minerva Pictures.
“We believed in this film from the start,” said Monica Ciarli. “It has a fresh look on what is happening in the world right now and we think it resonates with Gen Z, we think Diego is a talent to look out for and are very thrilled to have this film released by Altered Innocence in North America”.
